World War 2 Weekend 2005 Museum of Flight, East Fortune, June 5th 2005     Miles Magister Real Aeroplane Company The Miles Magister was the RAF's first monoplane trainer, entering service in 1937. The Magister was a military version of the Miles Hawk, with larger cockpits and blind flying equipment. Initially the Magister suffered from spin recovery problems, and a number were lost in accidents. With the help of the A & AEE, Miles re-designed the rear fuselage, rudder and tailplane. The re-designed version, designated the M 14A, proved very successful, and remained in production until 1941.
