East Fortune Airshow 2004 Museum of Flight, July 10th 2004     North American F-86A Sabre Golden Apple Operations The Sabre first flew on November 27th 1946, and went on to be produced in greater numbers than any other western post-war fixed-wing military aircraft. A total of 9502 Sabres in 13 land- and sea-based versions were produced in America, and under licence in Canada, Australia and Japan.
